"The Mask of the Red Death, Part 1" saw Central City suffer from a blackout thanks to the villainous speedster. While suspected to be the new avatar of the Negative Speed Force, The Flash season 9, episode 4, confirmed that this wasn't the case.
Following the airing of this week's episode, The CW released the trailer for The Flash season 9, episode 5. Appropriately titled "The Mask of the Red Death, Part 2," the upcoming episode gives a preview of the final battle between the DC foe and the fastest man alive. "The Mask of the Red Death, Part 2" was directed by Rachel Talalay, with story by Jonathan Butler and teleplay by Dan Fisk.
