Warning: Contains SPOILERS for Shazam! Fury of the Gods!
Shazam! Fury of the Gods continued one of DC's worst trends after Justice League regarding Ray Fisher's Cyborg. The 2017 theatrically released movie introduced audiences to the first superteam of the DC Extended Universe, as it was then known. Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman (Henry Cavill), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Flash (Ezra Miller), and Cyborg assembled to fight Steppenwolf and usher in a new age for the franchise. Shazam! Fury of the Gods is the latest entry in the shared universe and makes numerous references to the characters affiliated with the Justice League and the team itself.
The references to various Justice League heroes are featured throughout the movie as part of Shazam! Fury of the Gods' Easter eggs. Batman and Flash are among the most referenced heroes in the movie, while viewers are treated to a cameo from Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman too. The major presence of the Justice League characters makes sense, as they are the biggest characters existing in the universe. It also continues Shazam!'s willingness to allude to their existence in the universe, even if any actual cameos were not possible in the first film. However, the Shazam 2 references also continue a bad Justice League trend.
