Summary
- Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow should avoid replicating Superman's unusual and risky costume reveal.
- DC has a history of successful costume reveals with Batman and Birds of Prey.
- Supergirl's costume reveal for her solo movie might be unveiled as a promotional image or video before the film's release in 2026.
The second DCU movie, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow could stand to learn an important lesson from David Corenswet's Superman suit reveal. After Superman's release in July 2025, the DCU's cinematic offerings will continue with the first live-action solo Supergirl movie since 1984's ill-fated Supergirl. Sasha Calle's version of Supergirl was the latest to feature on the big screen, appearing as a secondary character in 2023's The Flash, while Milly Alcock will take up the mantle in 2026's Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.
Before Alcock's solo outing, Superman will be the first movie to kick off the DCU with David Corenswet in the titular role. While the release date is just under a year away, details about Superman have been steadily emerging – with Corenswet's Superman costume reveal being among the earliest of these. As yet, Supergirl's supersuit has not been revealed, but before DC Studios decides to do so, it should learn an important lesson from how Corenswet's reveal was handled.
