Zack Snyder reveals that Leonardo DiCaprio almost took on the role of Lex Luthor for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in the DCEU. Throughout the decades, several talented actors have played Lex Luthor in live-action in various Superman adaptations, whether it be on the big or small screens. However, in the comic book movie genre, it is not uncommon for various actors to have been considered for some of the biggest roles, including Lex.
During a new interview with Happy, Sad, Confused, Snyder was asked about old rumors regarding Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and ended up revealing that he and DiCaprio had met for him to potentially play Lex in the DCEU movie timeline. While Jesse Eisenberg ultimately got the role of Lex, Snyder shared the following:
Leonardo DiCaprio, I talked to…I think so [when asked if the actor was intrigued by the idea] I think DiCaprio had a lot of great ideas, actually, just in the meeting. I think in the end, he was like, "Eh, I don't know…" but he was really smart about the material.
