Joker: Folie à Deux’s first trailer hinted at how the movie could meaningfully bring back another major DC character, Bruce Wayne. Bruce briefly appears in Joker when Arthur goes to Wayne Manor to try and talk to Thomas Wayne. At the time, Arthur is convinced that Thomas Wayne is his father, and Bruce symbolizes the life Arthur believes he should have. Thanks to the trailer for Joker: Folie à Deux, it is now clear this theme will continue in the Joker sequel.
The trailer for Joker: Folie à Deux shows many scenes that are Arthur’s hallucinations. This can be as small as him imagining that black umbrellas are actually colorful, but Arthur’s hallucinations also seem to take over entire scenes. A quick cut implies Arthur sees himself and Harley dancing on a roof when they are instead dancing in the street. These hallucinations seem to share a theme, and it is one that also ties in with Joker’s use of Bruce Wayne.
