James Gunn teases that more Vertigo-based characters are joining the new DC Universe. As the DCEU is coming to an end after a decade, DC Studios is setting up a new DC Universe. With Gunn and Safran as the co-CEOs of DC Studios, the duo is crafting a new interconnected franchise. In late January, DC Studios presented several new DC Universe movies and TV shows that are currently in the works. While Chapter 1, "Gods and Monsters," will reveal more later in the year, DC Studios are keeping themselves busy for the next few years.
One of the projects announced was a new Swamp Thing movie that will explore the dark origin story of the titular character. Logan director James Mangold is currently in talks for the Swamp Thing reboot.
When asked if there will be more Vertigo characters, Gunn stressed they are dealing with a "couple potential things" for the DC Universe. However, Gunn wouldn't elaborate on what characters may or may not appear from the Vertigo imprint.
